The Deacons of TRBC are not just figureheads. They are mature men of industry and integrity who love the Lord and His church and meet the qualifications for Deacons laid down in Acts 6:1-7 and I Timothy 3:8-13. They are men of wisdom whom the Elders themselves often go to for counsel and advice. Each one has a special ministry. They oversee the financial matters of the church, look after the benevolent ministry, take care of the building, property, book ministry, CD copying and distribution. They are responsible and cautious in their ministry to those outside the church who come to them for material help. They are all students of God’s precious Word and faithful witnesses to sinners concerning their need of Christ. Our deacons are examples to other men as to what a Christian man is and ought to be. They are what all Deacons in all churches should be. Texarkana Reformed Baptist Church is blessed and thankful for such men to serve here in Christ’s church in Texarkana, Arkansas/Texas. Meet them below.
Texarkana Reformed Baptist Church’s pastoral leadership is comprised of a plurality of Elders – also in the Scriptures called Bishops (Overseers) and Pastors (Shepherds). This is one Biblical distinctive that sets TRBC apart from many other Baptist Churches. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Great Shepherd, and all who serve Him in pastoral ministry are undershepherds. We also hold the biblical teaching of parity in the eldership. All Elders are equal in their position, qualifications, responsibilities, and authority. (I Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-11; Acts 14:23; 20:17-21, 26-31; Hebrews 13:17) Although there is equality in authority, etc., yet there will be diversity of gifts and abilities. And, it is in this diversity that Christ’s church is properly pastored. Our Pastors have been chosen by the congregation to be Christ’s Oversees in TRBC. The Pastors preach, teach, counsel, and see to the spiritual care of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ here in Texarkana. Texarkana Reformed Baptist Church is thankful to God for His gracious provision of our Elders. Meet them below.
